Welcome to Arsenal Yaya Sanogo

This week started with an announcement on Arsenal.com confirming the signing of 20 year old Yaya Sanogo from Auxerre on a long-term contract with wage details unknown and he will be joining the team after the U20’s World cup is finished. Whilst it’s not the world class signing we are all hoping for but it is another player to boost the squad in a summer where we are selling and releasing the deadwood from the team and he will settle in well with the team.

French striker Sanogo started playing football from a young age and after failing to be selected for Clairefontaine he started his career at Parisian club CO Les Ulis. The first thing you notice about Sanogo is his height, at 6ft 3 he is tall and it doesn’t hinder his pace in any way, in addition to his height he is fast and and skilled in moving through his opponents with ease, he is a creative and scores a lot of goals which only adds to his talent. Not only has he racked up impressive performances for Auxerre he has also appeared for the France National team at various levels and has gained plenty of playing experience. He still needs a lot of development in terms of passing, finishing and awareness but with good coaching he will only improve with age.  The only thing that could possibly affect his career at Arsenal is a previous injury but so far he seems to have recovered well and he is going to be a great player for the future.
