My Top 5 Transfer Targets

With the Transfer window a mere 6 days in I thought I would take this opportunity to share who I believe are the players Arsene Wenger SHOULD be looking at this is not by any means a reflection on who I think he will be looking to bring in. If that was the case then my top 5 would be left blank.

1. Adrian Lopez

He is available for £14.5 million due to a minimum fee release clause in his contract, It appears there has already been contact between the two clubs with reports of an initial bid of £10 million rejected. Reports also suggest Adrian is open to the move. He would fit into our side perfectly can play as a winger or part of a front two. He has a great eye for goal and is incredibly skilful. Quite similar to Chelsea’s Juan Mata.

2. Sven Bender

Sven Bender has been made available for £15 million this would be a bargain. He will not be short of any takers he is pretty much a utility player. Normally deployed by Dortmund and Germany in a Left Back or Defensive Midfield role but can play anywhere along the back line and midfield. He would be a very valuable asset and still has bags of potential. He would easily fill the void left by Alex Song in the summer.

3. Wilfred Zaha

The signing of Wilfred Zaha would be very well received as he is a Gooner for one, but he is a typical Arsene Wenger signing. has a load of potential, tricky, quick. also with Theo Walcott being deployed in the centre these days It would be good for Oxlade-Chamberlain to have some competition for that Right Wing spot. Although it is rumoured Crystal Palace are holding out for £20 Million and him being loaned back. Wouldn’t be surprised if nothing is done until the summer by any club who require his services.

4. Moussa Sissoko

As I have touched on in this article and previous ones we are lacking hugely in midfield since the departure of Alex Song you could even go back and say we haven’t had a real Midfield general in their since the likes of Vieira and Petit. Moussa Sissoko is out of contract in the summer and rumours are suggesting Toulouse may accept a bid as little as £6 Million. this guy is a typical powerhouse box-to-box Midfielder. Much like Yaya Toure at Manchester City. He would solidify that midfield no end and is definitely one of the areas we need to strengthen.

5. Nicolas Lombaerts

Reports suggesting that with Arsene Wenger looking to bolster defensively and with Nicolas Lombaerts in his Final year at Zenit, He could be available for around £8 Million. he is an accomplished Centre half with Belgium has 20+ caps to his name can also play Left back which has been an area of concern this season. he would be a very good signing indeed.

There are a few names you may have noticed that I have not included, If this was written a day or two ago Lewis Holtby would have been top of the list but unfortunately due to Wenger and the board’s inability to act fast it appears he has finalised a Summer transfer to our Rivals Tottenham. I also didn’t include David Villa as I really would be surprised if we pulled that off. firstly Barcelona don’t seem to be willing to budge from their £16 million valuation, Secondly I can’t see Arsene Wenger paying that for an injury prone 31-year-old. Lastly the over rumour going around is Wesley Sneijder on a free, unless he lowers his ridiculous wage demands of £200,000 a week it will only ever be Chelsea  Man City or Man Utd who would even consider that.

Feedback always welcome.
